‘Private sector gets boost under Akufo-Addo’

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of S-Class Services, a vehicle inspection and technical organisation, Mr Samuel Oppong, has applauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for a significant improvement in the Public Private Partnership.

He said President Akufo-Addo has created a friendly enabling environment for the private sector to thrive and that there was a major boost in all sectors of the country’s economy.

Mr Oppong made the commendation when he granted an interview with the media yesterday after the president’s State of the Nation Address (SONA).
He said the president stated categorically stated in his address that government will partner with the private sector in the area of sanitation to make the country free from diseases.
Mr Oppong said there was an increase in industrial growth in the year 2017 and that the president also indicated that his government was working hard to double growth this year.

According to him, he was of the firm belief that President Akufo-Addo will surely fulfill the promise of increasing the industrial and economic growth as he has fulfilled his promise of the Free Senior High School policy.

He said other promises made by the president during his campaign included the reduction of taxes and the clamping down of galamsey activities. These promises, he noted, have come to past, adding that he believed in the president as a private sector operator.

The CEO S-Class Services said monitoring events in some of the institutions he works with indicated an increase in revenue, citing the Driver and Vehicle Licencing Authority (DVLA) as one of the institutions, which had made significant improvement in revenue mobilisation.

“The DVLA as at the last week in January this year had increase revenue by 300 per cent as compare to the 2015, 2016, and the beginning of President Akufo-Addo 2017.”
