Go to Turkey – Sam Johnson advises Asamoah

Former Black Stars versatile player, Sam Johnson, has advised Ghanaian and Juventus midfielder, Kwadwo Asamoah, to consider requests from Turkish clubs as the transfer season draws to a close in Europe.

Kwadwo Asamoah has failed to command a starting role in the Juventus starting line-up and a move to Turkey, according to Sam Johnson, would guarantee a regular playtime for Asamoah who has made only 97 appearances for the Turin club since joining from Udinese in 2012.

Reports from Turkey indicate that Asamoah has reached an agreement to join Galatasaray but the deal may suffer a setback as Juventus Coach, Masimiliano Allegri, is waiting to bring back midfielder, Leonardo Spinazzola, from loan at Atalanta before giving any green light to the 28-year-old Ghanaian.

Abena Asamoah, wife of Kwadwo Asamoah, is also expected to play a key role in influencing the next move of his husband but Sam Johnson who played for four different Turkish clubs believes a move to Turkey will make Asamoah sparkle again.

“I know Asamoah’s quality and I am certain that he will be a success over there, there are a lot of Africans there and most of his team-mates are there so it should not be difficult to adapt,” Johnson told Accra-based Citi FM.

A move by Asamoah will add to the number of Ghanaians moving to Turkish league. Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan and fellow team mate, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu have all joined Turkish clubs, Kayrisespor and Bursaspor respectively.
