Residents of Anomabo in the Central Region have called on the government to as a matter of urgency revamp their collapsed citrus juice factory, which used to employ about half of the youth population in the area.
The residents say, the factory blocks are now the habitat for snakes, rats and other deadly animals.
They have therefore reminded the NPP Government, and for that matter, President Nana Addo of his 2016 campaign promise “one district one factory”.
Some of the youth who spoke to our reporter say, they are ready to work hard to earn a living and also contribute their quota towards the nation building.
One elder, Opanyin Kwame Yaw, complained about the increasing number at teenage pregnancies in the area due to unemployment, adding, “when the youths get busy at work, they won’t have the time to loiter about.”
Mr. Isaac A.A Mensah, a traditional drummer in the area passionately appealed to the Prez Nana Addo to revamp the factory to help solve the problem of unemployment in the area.
